Cocktail: Tipsy Shirley

We had to create cocktails for a game of Taskmaster between friends. I can’t seem to find a genuine recipe using my recipe, so I guess I made a new one up. Mike rates it a 7/10 and would order it in a restaurant.

Ingredients for 1 flute’s worth (no idea on calories as this was all eye-balled):

  • 1 finger pink food colouring (I used Morrison’s own, which I would usually use for baking but it seemed to work fine. Maybe you can sub in grenadine, but that might turn sickly sweet)
  • 2 fingers of vodka (Russian Standard – I’m sure others will do)
  • 1 finger of lemonade (Sprite Zero)
  • 1 finger of apple juice (Innocent)

Instructions:

  1. Literally just layer the drinks and amounts in the order they’re listed as ingredients.

Recommendations:

  • I was fancy and dipped the edge of the flute in water and some pink sugar that I had from decorating cookies. It added a more sophisticated touch, I’m not going to lie about that.
  • I was also fancy and added a wedge of a pink lady apple for garnish. That was handy because then I had a healthy snack for later in the evening.

Disclaimer: I didn’t actually drink any of it, because I didn’t feel like drinking (I drink, just didn’t feel like it then), but I trust Mike’s judgement. Obviously your mileage may vary.

Have you ever made up a cocktail, and did it turn out to be a real thing already? Or let me know in the comments what your favourite cocktail is!
